Would anyone else play a game like this? A non pay to win strategy game? I know I would. The game could monetize some other way – like donations, selling cosmetics, etc. Practically all these games are built on the same engine too, so it wouldn't be difficult to grab the engine and launch it without any pay to win elements. Resources are gathered by sending out settlers to collect from nearby sources or by looting enemy villages. I suspect if anyone released a non pay to win browser based strategy game, it would do incredibly well. Tribal Wars 2 is a browser-based another one of the best games like Evony. These games are fun for a while, but you quickly realize that you're at an absurd disadvantage to paying players. I played a few other more modern games like War Tune and Siege Lord, but quickly stopped because they were similar to Ministry of War and entirely pay to win. I had to pay money to get more than a certain amount of colonies/bases. The game includes both the economy and a military campaign and takes place in Medieval Britain in AD 1066. The game focuses on expansion and conquest through military pursuits. I remember I ran into a wall when it came to progression though. Stronghold is a Massively Multiplayer Online, Real-time Strategy, and Building video game developed by Firefly Studios and published by Take 2 Interactive. Anyone willing to whip out their credit card can just crush you and TAKE cities from you that you might've spent real money on developing.
